TOPS Club receives awards

With an average weight loss of 9.8 pounds per member, Marion’s chapter of TOPS Club won first place Saturday at a regional event in McPherson.

The chapter placed third for a total weight loss of 78.6 pounds from January through August.

Ginny Grimmett placed second in individual weight loss and third for the most pounds lost, with a loss of 20.8.

Hazel “Marie” Hoffner received a ribbon for maintaining her weight at or below her goal.

Hoffner, Mary Olson, and Rowena Plett were honored for having reached their weight goals.

Effie Smith was named the most influential member.

The chapter received second place for team effort. The group meets every Thursday morning at Hilltop Manor. Weigh-in is from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. The meeting starts at 9:30 a.m.
