Topham gets Southwestern athletic award
Seth Topham of Peabody received the Southwestern College 2017 Outstanding Student-Athlete Award in a ceremony May 3 in Winfield.
The award is presented to the top senior female and male student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional performance in athletics, academics, leadership, and college and community service.
A hurdler, Topham is a four-year member of the men’s track and field program. He is a two-time Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference individual champion, a two-time all-KCAC selection, and a KCAC Champions of Character medallion recipient.
He was a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics national championship qualifier in 2016, and a two-time NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete.
Off the track, Topham has been a science and math tutor and lab assistant, member of Leadership Southwestern, and second team academic All-American. He recently was named a Masterbuilder for typifying the spirit of Southwestern College.
Topham is the son of Greg and Kim Topham.
