A big victory at Sunrise Academy this past week in Wichita gave the Peabody-Burns Junior High School team a 3-1 record for the season.
The Tomahawks won 48-0 and will play Thursday against Canton-Galva.
An early fumble recovery by Seth Topham set up the first Tomahawk scoring drive starting from their own 34-yard line.
Hunter Pickens connected with Topham on a 16-yard pass play for the score.
Pickens ran the two-point conversion in, and with five minutes, 15 seconds left in the first quarter PBJH took an 8-0 lead.
A defensive stand by PBJH forced a punt on the next series, and the Tomahawks set up the offense on their own 39.
Pickens capped off the 61-yard drive with a 27-yard run for the score.
A Pickens pass to Lucas Larsen put the Tomahawks up 16-0 with 2:14 left in the first quarter.
The PBJH defense stopped the next Sunrise offensive drive with a Tommy Morris interception.
Even though the offense stalled on the drive, PBJH faked the punt and Larsen connected with Pickens on a 50-yard pass play.
The conversion was unsuccessful, but the Tomahawks took a 22-0 lead with 6:07 left on the clock in the second quarter.
Pickens recovered a fumble at the Sunrise 33-yard line to start the next Tomahawk scoring drive.
Austin Savage finished the drive with a five-yard run for the score.
No conversion points were added but the PBJH lead went to 28-0 with less than two minutes left in the half.
The Tomahawks added another score in the third on an 11-yard run.
A fourth-quarter score came when Topham intercepted a Sunrise pass and returned the ball 40 yards for a touchdown.
Pickens added the conversion points, and the PBJH lead soared to a 42-0 lead with 5:27 left in the game.
Garret Schroeder hit Christian Gard with an 11-yard pass for the final score of the contest.
The game was called due to the 45-point rule.
