Peabody-Burns Junior High School Tomahawk boys basketball is now 3-1 with a loss to Solomon on Thursday, 30-22.
Solomon outscored the PBJHS squad 9-6 in the first period. Braxton Kyle and Brooks Hodges each had a trey in the quarter.
Defense was key in the second. Solomon only scored 4 and PBJHS had 3 points from Kyle. PBJHS trailed, 13-9, at the half.
Brent Buller had 2 for the only PBJHS offense in the third, but PBJHS defense held Solomon to just 4 points. The Tomahawks were down 6 at the end of the third, 17-11.
Both offenses had a solid fourth quarter but PBJHS lost, 30-22. Kevin Baatrup had 5 in the final period. Vince Newman had 3, and Austin Hiebert added 2. Kyle scored a free throw.
