To the Editor:
I’ve known Jeff Benbrook since he was hired as city administrator for Peabody. I think he has done a great job. He was easy to work with while I was on Peabody City Council and he is very knowledgeable about city business.
He has had to deal with a lot of city problems, many of which he inherited. When he started in the position, there were a lot of things to be corrected.
Sometimes people have not agreed with what he has done or the way he did it, but he had to follow city ordinances and what the council directed him to do.
I don’t feel he was treated fairly at last week’s city council meeting. If the council was not happy with his performance, he should have been given a chance to correct it.
The city will have a hard time finding someone to do as good a job as he has done.
