TO THE EDITOR

To the Editor:

To Whom It SHOULD Concern: Recently I was visiting in your area and made a trip from Peabody to Burns. I noticed how bad the roads were and mentioned this to my sister. She informed me this is the road traveled by school buses from Burns.

Folks, that road is really bad. Winter is setting in and you are trusting your students and bus driver on those roads?

I don’t know who is responsible for those roads, but whomever it is, should consider any roads traveled by student, five days a week, nine months of the year, a top priority!

Young lives are precious and need to be protected. Isn’t the cost of road repair worth keeping those young lives safe? Forgive me for sticking my nose where it doesn’t belong, but I wanted to share how surprised I was to see such bad roads for those buses.

A concerned visitor,

Maxine (Beeton) Gilmer

Eagle Point, Ore.
