Thomas “T.C.” Ensey

Dr. Thomas Cranford Ensey, 97, of Marion, passed Jan. 23, 2018, at Marion Assisted Living in Marion.

T.C. was born Nov. 22, 1920, to Thomas L. and Martha E. (Cranford) Ensey in McKinney, Texas. He graduated from Carmon High School in Carmon, Oklahoma, and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

T.C. served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945. While serving in the Navy, he and Lila Edith Lindley were married Sept. 12, 1944, in Houston, Texas. He was a resident of Marion where he was a family physician, having his own practice from 1949 until his retirement in 1982.

Dr. Ensey is survived by his sons, Lowell Ensey and wife, Leila, of Bel Aire, Kansas; Larry Ensey and wife, Melanie, of Marion; and Dean Ensey and wife, Joanne, of Erie, Pennsylvania; a sister, Mary Eunice Crown of McPherson; eight grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife Lila E. Ensey; three half-brothers, Clarence, Lee Harrell, and Willis Ensey; and three half-sisters, Lois Hansen, Mattie Lee Harrell, and Hazel Trawick.

A memorial service for Dr. Ensey will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion, with visitation following the service in the fellowship hall. Burial has taken place.
