Theodore 'Ted' Allen Stutzman

Theodore “Ted” Allen Stutzman, 72, died May 12 in Peabody. He was born to Theo Grace (Allen) Lawler and Walter Jacob Stutzman on Feb. 17, 1941, in Peabody.

He graduated from Newton High School in 1959 and served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a train dispatcher for the Santa Fe Railroad.

He married Judith Staton on Nov. 15, 1969. They were married for 18 1/2 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Jaime LaRue, of Tulsa, Okla; two sons, Craig Stutzman of Bel Aire and Jon Stutzman of Wichita; three sisters, Eileen Wonders of Newton, Nancy Keasey of Tuscon, Ariz., and Barbara Tyler of Cibolo, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main St., in Newton. A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Terry Ullum officiating. Burial will follow at Burns Cemetery in Burns.

Memorials may be made to Crossroads Community Church, Halstead.
