Tate J. Riedy, 18, of Woodbine, died June 24 south of Salina as a result of an automobile accident.

A vigil service was Sunday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Herrington, with Funeral Mass on Monday.

He was born Oct. 3, 1996, to Casey and Renae (Stroda) Riedy. in Salina.

A 2015 Hope High School graduate, he was class president for four years, belonged to various clubs and activities, and played football, basketball, and track. He worked at Straub International, Salina, and was a volunteer firefighter for Liberty-Woodbine fire department.

He is survived by his parents; a brother, Drew; and two sisters, Hannah and Leah, all of Woodbine; grandparents Pamela Riedy, of Woodbine, and Steve and Barb Stroda, of Hope; and great-grandparents Beatrice Riedy, of Herington, and Joan Stroda, of Hillsboro.

Memorials are requested for St. Phillip’s Catholic Church, Liberty-Woodbine Fire Department, or the Agriculture Educational Program.
