Specialty crop applications now accepted

The Kansas Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for the Specialty Crop Block Grant program.

The purpose of the specialty crop program is to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops. Specialty crops are defined as “fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, horticulture, and nursery crops, including floriculture.”

Applications will be evaluated on their ability to successfully promote specialty crops and make a positive impact on the Kansas economy.

Applications are due to KDA by May 15. For more information, and to download the application, visit www.agriculture.ks.gov/specialtycropblockgrant.
