Sorosis Beta tours downtown

On Nov. 15, Sorosis Beta members visited the Flint Hills Gypsies store and Déjà Vu, a new shop getting ready to open soon.

Following the shopping opportunities, the group met at the home of Marilyn Cox for an Italian meal catered by Toni Chapman.

Club president Arlene Moffett opened the meeting with a humorous excerpt from “Humor for a Woman’s Heart.”

The community improvement committee report was given. Members approved the purchase of an additional tree or trees for the Tree Renewal program at City Park using up the remaining grant funds from the past year. They then voted to apply for another Peabody Community Foundation Grant to help purchase a two and a half gallon hot water heater tank for the Peabody Township Library kitchen.

Other business was conducted and concerns for those with health needs were shared.

The devotional thought with a Thanksgiving theme was shared by Sonja Koslowsky. There were 15 members in attendance and the door prize was won by Sherri Gerety.
