The April meeting of the Sorosis Beta Club was held April 18 at the United Methodist Church with 11 members in attendance.
The program was given by local beautician, Linda Martinez from Manestreet Beautique. She shared some of her personal background. Members then shared about favorite hair styles and styling products from bygone days. Martina gave hints on dealing with dry skin, nail issues, lip and eye make-up, waxing, hair styles, and her salon hair products. Arleen Moffett won the prize from Manestreet Beautique and each member received a $5 coupon good for salon services.
Refreshments were served by hostess, Janie Hodges. The cake was made by Norma Patton, co-hostess, who was unable to attend.
President Moffett presided over the business meeting. Katherine Ragland passed out the slate of nominated officers for the coming club year. New officers will be installed at the May meeting which will be held in Lindsborg at the Swedish Crown.
Janie Hodges read several poems by Helen Steiner Rice for devotions. Lou Ann Gray won the door prize.
