Former Peabody residents Warren and Phyllis (Gansel) Slocombe will spend this weekend with relatives in Kansas City celebrating their 55th anniversary.

They were married Aug. 1, 1959, at Hill City United Methodist Church, retired from farming and ranching in Peabody in November 2006, and moved to Manhattan in 2010.

They have two children, Tim Slocombe of Webb City, Missouri, and Beth Nusser of Lyons; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
