Skinners hold 66th annual reunion

Descendants of William and Margaret Skinner and James and Amanda Skinner gathered Aug. 4 for the 66th annual Skinner reunion at Peabody Senior Center.

William and James were brothers who migrated with their families from Iowa to Peabody and La Harpe, respectively, in 1896.

A highlight of the reunion was a children’s bell choir composed of family members.

Attending the reunion were Virginia Skinner and Jennifer and Chris Young, Mackenzie, Bryant, Philip, and Alex, Peabody; Craig and Kara Nelson, Lanie, Adria, and Tate, Garden Plain; Wray and Pauline Skinner, Ilene Chisholm, Lisa Nunns and Cathy Parker, Wichita; Johnnie Kay Morrison, Newton; Donna Nelson, Lindsborg; Sophie, Drew, and Cooper Nelson, Salina; Joy and Joel Carlson, Shawnee; Madison Hammett, Olathe; Mike Mann, Lawrence; Lolita Zerbe, Augusta; Virginia Bigbee and Jean Bigbee Hill, Manhattan; Don Skinner, Leawood; Janet Breithaupt, Overland Park.

Attending from out-of-state were Tim Skinner, Douglas, Wyo.; Lori Nunns-Michels, Murrieta- Calif.; Doris Herbert, Gainesville, Texas; Ray and Lindy Grindel and Harriet Grindel, Gladstone, Mo.; Wilberta Muchmore, Raytown, Mo.; Wilbur Hill, Liberty, Mo.; Becky Weber and Reburta Wenzl, Grand Island, Nebr.; Carrie Weber, Mebane, N. C.; and Mindy and Blake Robinson, Duston, Northampton, England.
