Peabody-Burns Elementary School students will invite grandparents to eat lunch with them on Sept. 19. The event is an annual one and even adults with no grandchildren enrolled at PBES can be a part of the fun by signing up to be adopted grandparents.

Interested adults can sign up to attend the meal and select the age group of a child with whom they would like to be teamed. Students and grandparents also will take part in activities or art projects before or after they eat.

Grandparents joining fourth and fifth grade students will eat lunch from 11 to 11:30 a.m. and participate in activities from 11:30 to 11:55 a.m.

Second and third grade students and their grandparents will eat from 11:40 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. and enjoy activities from 12:10 to 12:35 p.m.

Kindergarten and first grade students and guests will start with activities from 11:55 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. and then have lunch from 12:20 to 12:50 p.m.

The menu for the meal is baked ham, Au gratin potatoes, green beans, roll, cherry crisp with ice cream, and a drink for a charge of $3. Reservations are necessary by Sept. 12 and can be made by calling the PBES office at (620) 983-2188.
