Sharon Heffernan

Sharon Kay Heffernan, 54, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 10:37 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born Oct. 3, 1962, in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Melvin and Marianne (Buttner) Flint.

Sharon was a 1981 graduate of Marion High School in Marion, Kansas. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.

On Aug. 2, 1986, she married Mike Heffernan in Marion, Kansas.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years Mike; daughters Myka Ross and her husband, Tim, of Spring Hill, Kansas, and Mackenzie Heffernan of Aurora; her mother Marianne Flint of El Dorado, Kansas; sisters Shirley Edmunds and Sue Stidham, both of El Dorado; mother-in-law Sylvia Heffernan of Sioux City, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Flint; brothers Don Heck and Steve Flint; father-in-law John Heffernan; and brother-in-law Bill Edmunds.

A private family graveside service under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora was at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Aurora.

Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, in the funeral home chapel.

Memorial donations in memory of Sharon may be made to the Leukemia Association, in care of the funeral home.
