Peabody-Burns seventh-graders Tracy A. Henry and Hayden K. Miller scored better on college entrance exams than average college-bound high school seniors.
Their scores on the ACT or SAT entrance exams placed them in the top 36 percent of test takers.
Because of their scores, they were selected for the Duke University Talent Identification Program. In a ceremony June 6 at the University of Kansas Lied Center the 800 students selected for the program were honored.
Duke TIP operates in a 16-state region. In 2010, more than 74,000 students participated in the program, with 24,204 earning recognition.
