Seniors to meet

Senior Citizens of Marion County will meet at 10 a.m. May 20 at Lincolnville Community Center to consider requests for funding from taxpayer money.

Reservations for lunch, which will be served by Lincolnville seniors, are due May 18 at (620) 323-0257 or (620) 382-3580. Transportation is available by calling (620) 382-3580 by May 19.

At the group’s previous meeting April 15 in Tampa, Hillsboro Senior Center requested taxpayer money to pay its March utility bill. The group voted to pay half the bill, $293.20.

Lexis Brewer of Centre High School was chosen from among four applicants for a scholarship of an unspecified amount from the group.
