Seniors give money to Peabody center

There was one mill levy request at the Nov. 18 Senior Citizens of Marion County Board of Directors meeting in Peabody. Judy Mellott of Peabody Senior Center asked for assistance with the center’s property insurance of $2,400. The board voted to give $1,200 to the Peabody Center.

Nominating bylaws committee chairman Shirley Bowers informed the board that Jerry Kline was willing to serve a second term with two different boards. He was approved.

Shawn Sullivan, Kansas Department of Aging Secretary said the department is working on a Kansas Nursing Home ranking website and a website directory for aging disabled individuals to look for services.

Robert Carlton, Central Home Care Administrator, reported that Kansas Medicaid is going to be privatized and there will be six contractors in Kansas to manage the cases of individuals on Medicaid.
