Senator accepting internship applications

Sen. Jerry Moran is accepting applications for congressional internships in his Washington, D.C., and Kansas offices for the fall.

As a University of Kansas student, Moran had a summer internship with Rep. Keith Sebelius in 1974 while the Watergate scandal was at its height.

The internship program is open to college students who have an interest in government and who have had academic success. Preference is given to Kansas residents.

The application deadline is May 31. Forms are available from the “Services” section of Moran’s website, http://www.moran.senate.gov.

Applicants should include a completed application form, resume, academic transcript, two letters of recommendation, and a cover letter highlighting a policy problem before Congress and a suggested course of action. Applications should be submitted to internships@moran.senate.gov.

For more information, e-mail internships@moran.senate.gov or call (202) 224-6521 and request to speak with the intern coordinator.
