Season ends for Lady Warriors

The Peabody-Burns High School Lady Warriors lost Feb. 24 to Berean Academy, 54-25.

The squad finished the regular season with a 2-18 record.

The score was close throughout the first quarter.

Traylee Woodruff had eight points and Julie Wedel had a basket.

Berean eclipsed the Lady Warriors late in the quarter and led by two, 12-10, at the end of the period.

Berean opened the second with a basket but Felecia Pohlman cut the Berean lead to one, 14-13, with a three-pointer with six minutes left in the half.

Berean scored a basket and a free throw before Wedel answered with two points.

Pohlman added another two before the half but Berean came on late in the quarter with a three-pointer and another basket to lead 24-17 at the half.

In the third, Berean added five points before Bayleigh Clark added two to put PBHS on the board in the second half.

Clark added one more basket in the third, but that was all of the offense for PBHS.

Berean tacked on a total of 12 and the gap at the end of three was 36-21.

Berean owned the fourth quarter with the addition of 18 points.

Clark and Wedel each had two points for PBHS in the loss.

Woodruff led the offense with eight points.

Michaela Methvin had 10 rebounds and Clark had three steals and three assists.

Sub-state loss

The Lady Warriors had their season come to a close Tuesday with a 78-38 loss to number one Moundridge.
