Peabody-Burns junior Derek Schmidt was selected to perform with the state FFA band from June 2 to 4 at the state FFA convention in Manhattan.

Schmidt plays bass clarinet in the Peabody-Burns Warrior Band.

Bruce and LaDeena Burke of Peabody are his parents.
