Marion County Parents as Teachers will sponsor a “Roll and Read” event in conjunction with the Scarecrow Festival on Oct. 17.

Parents are encouraged to load younger children into a stroller or wagon and meet with other parents at 10 a.m. at Peabody Township Library. Older children can walk, bike, or skate to participate.

Parents and children will “roll” together along a ¾-mile course around Peabody doing activities involving literacy, crafts, and games.
