Ray and Marilyn Cook, Newton, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Cook, to David Lyon, son of Bruce and Teri Lyon of Wichita.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Peabody-Burns High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Tabor College. She is director of communications for Prairie View, Inc.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Wichita Southeast High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in communications from Wichita State University. He is currently employed as a commercial producer at KWCH-TV in Wichita.

The couple is planning an Oct. 10 wedding at Peabody United Methodist Church.
