Runners compete at Hesston

Peabody-Burns High School cross-country competed Thursday at Hesston. Seven individuals posted times for the competition.

In the senior division, Sheldon Wiebe received a ninth-place medal in the 5-kilometer race with a time of 18 minutes, 2 seconds. Lauren Pickens earned eighth-place in the 4-kilometer race with a time of 17:27. Heather Brooks also competed in the senior division and finished 24th with a time of 23:36.

In the junior division, Matt Hiebert earned 16th place with a time of 19:33 on the 5-k course. Amanda Pickens came in 20th with a 23:38 finish in the 4-k.

Two runners ran in the sophomore division. Seth Topham finished 31st with a time of 21:38 and Zach Preheim came in 32nd with a time of 21:53.

The team will next compete Thursday on their home course near Peabody.
