Ruby K. Schroeder, 85, of Hillsboro died April 3 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro. She was born Aug. 21, 1927, to John and Katherine (Jantz) Prieb in Inola, Okla.

She owned and operated the florist in Hillsboro.

She is survived by two sons, Vincent Schroeder of Marion and Russell Schroeder of Goessel; a daughter, Kathy Schmidt of rural Goessel; a sister, Lavina Schroeder of Buhler; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life was Monday at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, officiated by pastors Travis Schmidt and Loyal Martin.

Visitation was Sunday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Memorial funds have been established for Parkside Homes and Haiti Lifeline Ministries.
