Roy Unruh

Roy E. Unruh, 83, of Peabody, died April 25 in Peabody.

He was born Feb. 22, 1928, in rural Goessel, to J.E. and Hannah (Wedel) Unruh.

He owned the Sausage House in Peabody.

On Aug. 17, 1950, he married Arlene R. Penner in Hillsboro.

He was a member of Peabody United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene, of Peabody; a son, Duane D. of McPherson; two daughters, Cynthia of Springdale, Ark., and Marilyn of Peabody; a brother, Harold of Goessel; two sisters, Eleanora Goertzen of Goessel and Janet Kaufman of Moundridge; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Peabody United Methodist Church, Peabody. The Rev. David Ragland will officiate.

The burial will be private.

Memorial funds have been established with the church, Peabody Fire Department, and Peabody Senior Center in care of Jost Funeral Home, 401 S Washington St, Hillsboro KS 67460.
