BURNS:   Ronnie and Patti Gaines welcome new grandson

Burns correspondent

Ronnie and Patti Gaines went to Emporia on Sept. 17 and 18 to see their new grandson, Gunnar Gaines.

Kay Lambert spent the night at the home of Al and Bonnie Plummer on Sept. 15 and 16. On Sept. 17, Kay and Bonnie went to Hillsboro and Marion to shop at the craft shows.

On Sept. 18, Al and Bonnie went to Liberty, Missouri, and had dinner with Kaylon and Shelby. They all went to Shawnee Mission to help Dorothy Plummer celebrate her 102nd birthday at Sweet Life Rose Hill.

Guests of Lawrence and Lois Sayers on Sept. 19 were Lois’s cousin, Sharon Taylor of Winfield, her daughter Shannon from Canada, and her friend John from Beaumont. They took Lawrence and Lois to El Dorado to eat supper.

Countryside Friends and Fellowship met at the home of Pastor Arlen Busenitz on Sept. 14 for Bible study and lunch.

Bob and Becky Kyle called on Joyce Kyle on Sept. 17.

Lowell Larsen and Joyce Kyle attended Marion County senior citizens board meeting in Lincolnville on Sept. 16.

Members and friends of Burns United Methodist Church, Burns Countryside Church, and Eden Mennonite Church met at Burns City Park the morning of Sept. 18 for a community church service. Pastors Jim Helzer and Arlen Busenitz gave the sermons.
