Ronald Herbel

Services for Ronald Herbel, 81, Hillsboro, who died Nov. 13 at Hillsboro Community Hospital, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church.

Pastor John Werner will officiate. Relatives will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Born Sept. 28, 1941, in Hillsboro to Henry and Lena (Klatt) Herbel, he married Mary Jane Keller on July 8, 1960, in Hillsboro. She died in 2016.

Survivors include sons Rick Herbel of Newton and Randy Herbel of Norton; daughters Diana Howell of Hillsboro, Janet Kade of Ford County, and Judy Hollingshead of Ellis; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with the church and the hospital.
