Ronald and Ruth (Blackburn) Herbel will celebrate 50 years of marriage on Saturday. They married on Feb. 18, 1962, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lincolnville.

Ronald Herbel worked for Kansas Department of Transportation for 36 years, and Ruth Herbel worked for U.S. Department of Agriculture for 22 years.

They have three children, Brad Herbel of Rose Hill, Darryl Herbel of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kristy Gaddie of Wichita; and eight grandchildren.
