Robert Finley, 83, of Herington died May 8 at Medicalodges in Herington.

He was born May 20 1929 at Brookings South Dakota the son of the Rev S. Ben and Fern B. (Judd) Finley.

Finley was a retired over the road truck driver with AllFreight Truck Line of Kansas City.

He married Irene E. L. Latzke on Feb. 23, 1951; she survives at home. He also is survived by a son Ralph Finley of Chapman; two daughters: Mary McIntyre of Osage City and Kathleen Svitak of Pilsen; two brothers: Dennis Finley of Wichita and Jim Finley of Blunt, SD; and two sisters: Mary Ekey of Topeka and Laurie Ann Lautt of Harden, Mont; six grandsons, and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by son John Finley on June 10, 1976 and his parents.

The funeral service was held Saturday. Memorials may be sent to the Lyona Methodist Church in the care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, 404 S. Broadway, Herington.
