Robert "Dale" Hague

Dr. Robert “Dale” Hague DDS, 63, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family May 31, 2011, at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis Street, Wichita.

He was born March 6, 1948, in Newton, to Lyle L. and Roberta “Bobbie” (Reid) Hague.

Dale was a 1966 graduate of Peabody High School. He graduated from the University of Kansas and the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry. He had a dental practice in Peabody for 37 years.

Dale greatly loved his work and especially enjoyed caring for his patients through the years and he enjoyed his staff.

He married Doe Ann Del Vecchio on March 26, 1980, and she survives of the home.

Dale was a man of strong Christian faith and founded the HUB, a non-profit youth center in Peabody. He devoted his time and energy to its success.

He and his wife were foster parents and Dale was a “Dad” to many through the years and impacted many youth in a positive way. He also enjoyed tutoring math students and seeing them succeed.

Dale’s family was most important to him and he greatly looked forward to family, cookouts, and events. He especially enjoyed being a grandpa.

He is survived by his wife, Doe Ann Hague, of the home; mother, Roberta “Bobbie” Hague of Newton; a son, Michael Hague of Newton; and daughters, Katie Hague Phillips of Wichita and Stacey Hague of Newton; a brother, Randy Hague of Newton; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle L. Hague.

The funeral was 1 p.m. June 4 at First Church of the Nazarene in Newton. The Rev. Jim Pohlman of Peabody Christian Church officiated. Visitation was 5 to 9 p.m. June 3 at Petersen Funeral Home.

The family strongly urges in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the HUB youth center in care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N Main St, Newton KS 67114.
