The 19th biennial Henry and Pauline Michaelis reunion was Aug. 1-3 at the Best Western Red Coach Inn, Newton.
Henry Michaelis and Pauline Reuber were married Dec. 15, 1907, in Russell County. The couple had 10 children, Anna Catherine Agaetha, Arthur Leopold, Robert Alexander, Lorrine Pauline, Elma, August, Henry LeRoy, Jacob, Clara Viola, and Rose. All are deceased.
The family began hosting reunions in 1972, with the first one being in Kansas City. Reunions have been held every two years in locations such as Hays, the Kansas City area, the mountains of Colorado, and now for the first time, the Wichita area.
Tammy Britton and Sharon Oursler were in charge of arrangements for this year’s gathering. The Saturday evening and noon Sunday meals were catered by Sharon’s Rollin’ Kitchen, Peabody.
