BURNS:   Residents share Easter activities

Burns correspondent

Lawrence and Lois Sayers, Bruce Sayers, Megan Sayers and friend Branden, Sara and Leroy Wessel, Autumn Padgett, and Tom and Esther Archer and Daniel were Easter dinner guests of Sandy Sayers in El Dorado.

Jim and Linda Hess, Allie and Amelia of Kearney, Mo., Mitch and Kathy Foote of Manhattan, Brad and Diane Nightengale, Roger and Casey of El Dorado, were Easter guests of Marvin and Sherol Nightengale.

Vernon and Judy Koehn went to Wheaton, Mo., in the morning April 19, returning in the evening.

Nadine Ratzlaff died April 19 and the funeral was April 22 at Moundridge with burial at Eden Mennonite Church near Burns. She was the daughter of former Burns residents Mr. and Mrs. Pete Ratzlaff.

Josh and Ashley Wiebe, Seth, Faith, and Devon had early Easter supper April 19 with family at Richard and Margaret Wiebe’s at Whitewater. Easter Sunday they joined family at Bud and Liz Schwindt’s at Whitewater. That evening they had supper with family at Gary and Monica Thiessen’s, rural Burns.

Ronnie Gaines went to Madison April 17 to get Brooke Gaines. On April 19, Brooke hunted for Easter eggs in Burns. Kim and Ty Gaines and Dusty Gaines arrived April 19 and had an Easter dinner with Ronnie and Patti Gaines and Brooke. Ronnie and Patti had lunch on Easter Sunday with Dusty in Wichita.

On April 21, Ronnie had back surgery in El Dorado. He is improving after his lengthy surgery.

Jennifer Stucky picked up her mother, Marie Clark, on April 19 and they went to the home of Chris Stucky and watched the children hunt Easter eggs.

On Easter Sunday Marie was a dinner guest in the home of Mark and Lisa Johnson in Marion. They had an Easter egg hunt in the afternoon.

Victoria Koehn was married on April 20 and several from the Burns community attended the wedding.

Bob and Becky Kyle, Brody, and Braxton were Easter dinner guests of Joyce Kyle. They took a short ride in the afternoon.

Many from the area attended the funeral of James Olberding April 21 in Florence. Burial was in Burns at the Catholic Cemetery. A dinner by the Burns United Methodist Women at the Burns Community Center was well attended.
