Ranchers, landowners, and students can learn about creating range wealth through soil health Tuesday through Aug. 22 at the Tallgrass Range School at Elmdale’s Camp Wood YMCA.
The school costs $300 per person, covering materials, on-site lodging, meals, and other related costs.
Instructors will cover soil health, increased water intake, improved organic matter, increased soil biota, and a day on a neighboring ranch.
Those meeting eligibility requirements can also apply for a $150 scholarship from Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition. Agency staffs can also apply, but will only qualify for $100 in scholarships.
“Time is especially important to anyone interested in applying for a scholarship to offset up to half the cost of the school,” said Tim Christian, KGLC state coordinator.
Scholarship forms and more information on the school are available at www.kglc.org.
