Centre FFA hosted the second annual prospect show Saturday at the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Herington.
Three livestock breeds were exhibited by showmen from across the state and Oklahoma, and were judged by Brian Habjan of Linwood.
The “Wild Hog” show included 131 head of market hogs exhibited by 59 showmen. The champion was exhibited by Elizabeth Koch of Abilene. The reserve champion was shown by Ty Worley of Newkirk, Okla.
The “Get Your Goat” show included 51 head of market goats shown by 37 exhibitors. The champion market goat was shown by Tait Johnson of Chetopa. The reserve champion was shown by Lindsey Pease, also of Chetopa.
The “Lasso Your Lamb” show, held for the first time, included 75 head of market lambs exhibited by 36 showmen. The champion market lamb was shown by Logan Singular of Washington County. The reserve champion was shown by Bryce Roberts of Hillsboro.
Centre FFA was assisted by individuals in the tri-county area in hosting this annual event. Centre FFA Alumni Association operated the concession stand.
Local businesses provided cash prizes for the top three winners from each class and a belt buckle for each of the champion and reserve champion winners. Each showmanship entry also received an award.
