Marion County Conservation District is opening signup for a cost share program for water quality protection. Signup has already begun and continues through June 12. Funding will be available in July.
One of the programs offers landowners assistance for terraces, diversions, grass waterways, and grass seedings. Another program offers assistance with plugging abandoned wells, upgrading failing septic systems, and livestock waste management and water supply systems.
Landowners interested in the programs should contact the Marion County Conservation District, 303 Eisenhower Drive, Marion or by calling (620) 382-3520.
