The Prairie Lawn Cemetery Association hosted an annual meeting in the city council room on Jan. 21.

Maxine Seibel turned in her resignation after serving on the board of directors for 21 years, 20 of which were spent as secretary/treasurer. The board expressed its gratitude to her for her service.

Dinah Richmond was appointed to fill the remainder of Seibel’s term.

David Rempel and Maurice Meirowsky were elected to the board. Rempel is replacing Keith Harsh. Meirowsky’s election puts him back in the position he previously held.

Other business included establishing permanent hours for the cemetery. The gates will be open from 8 a.m. to dusk during the months that daylight saving time is in effect. Hours at the cemetery will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during standard time.
