WEDDINGS:   Pontious, Turner wed in Aulne

Alycia Pontious and Timothy Turner were united in marriage on June 21, 2014, at 4 p.m. in a double ring ceremony at the Aulne United Methodist Church. Pastor Warren Lee Olson officiated. Accompanists for the ceremony were Wanda Williams, organist, and Anita Brookens, pianist.

Parents of the bride are Sheila Williams and Ben Pontious. The father of the bride gave her away. Parents of the groom are Beth and Warren Olsen.

The bride wore a white chiffon over satin A-line gown with removeable cap sleeves, chiffon split front and metallic embroidery. Her train was chapel length. The bride’s flowers were yellow and blue roses arranged into a cascade with baby’s breath and crystal embellished white stephanotis flowers.

The maid of honor, Nicole Herzet of Marion, wore a pool blue long sheer chiffon dress with a beaded neckline. She carried a small bouquet of arranged yellow roses with baby’s breath.

Bridesmaids were Taylor Pontious and Tristan Williams of Marion. They wore pool blue long sheer chiffon dresses with a beaded neckline and carried small bouquets of arranged yellow roses with baby’s breath.

Flower girl was Kayleigh Olson of Hartford and the ring bearer was Max Olson of Americus.

Best man was Michael Turner of Wichita and the groomsmen were Ethan Pontious and Cody Williams of Marion.

Ushers were Travis Williams of Marion and James Vanburen, Eric Olson, and Joey Olson of Emporia.

Melissa Parmley from Marion was the guest book attendant and Corin Parmley of Marion and Adam Shaw of Emporia were in charge of gifts.

The reception was held in the Marion City Building Ballroom.

The couple traveled to Galveston, Texas, for their honeymoon. They now reside in Emporia.
