Polka to mark couple’s anniversary

Francis and Mary (Seiler) Jirak will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a polka dance 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Pilsen Community Center.

Married on October 28th, 1972, in Colwich, the couple have five children — sons Father John Jirak of Wichita, James Jirak of Udall, and Albert Jirak of Wichita and daughters Maria Gear and Kristine Simpson, both of Andale — and 25 grandchildren.

Their children will be hosts for the dance.

Francis retired after 35 years as a maintenance foreman at Marion Reservoir. He continues to farm. Mary is a homemaker.
