March 5 — A motorist in the 400 block of N. Ash St. and disabled vehicle at Ash and D Sts. were investigated. Debris was removed from the roadway.

March 6 — A cyclist who was biking across the country was assisted and an injury accident was investigated.

March 7 — A traffic complaint on US-56, report of an abandoned vehicle at US-56 and Industrial Rd., and harassment complaint in the 400 block of N. Ash St. were investigated. Cattle running free on K-15 were rounded up. Reports of credit card fraud in the 300 block of S. Cedar St. and a suspicious person in Willow Glenn were investigated.

March 8 — Two reports of a suspicious person near Hillsboro Municipal golf course were investigated. A commercial alarm in the 900 block of E. D St. and an emission wavier on an out-of-state vehicle were investigated.

Thursday — Charges were dropped on a credit a card fraud case that filed earlier in the week. A child custody dispute and report of unlicensed dogs running free in the 300 block of N. Main St. were investigated.

Friday — A report of an attempted phone scam and a reckless driver at the fairgrounds were investigated.

Saturday — Special enforcement at roads intersecting with US-56 was conducted, debris on Adams St. was removed, and a dog running free in the 300 block of S. Ash St. was investigated.

March 6 — A complaint of an unregistered vehicle parked in the roadway in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. was investigated; a tow sticker was placed on the vehicle and the vehicle was removed later. A report of a reckless driver on US-56 and a panic alarm in the 700 block of S. Freeborn St. were investigated.

March 7 — A report of suspicious activity in the 600 block of E. Main St. and a scam that involved no monetary loss to the reporting party were investigated. A citizens lost dog was located. A downtown business’s door was found to be ajar; the owner was contacted and the door was secured.

March 8 — A report of a possible anhydrous smell in the 300 block of S. 4th St. was investigated; tanks at Marion Elevator were checked but nothing appeared to be amiss. A warning for turn signal light out in the 100 block of Main St. was issued.

Thursday — A non-injury accident was investigated. A suspicious vehicle in the Subway parking lot was investigated; the occupants turned out to be two employees.

Friday — An animal complaint in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. was investigated.

Saturday — A motorist who was driving on a flat tire near 3rd and Main Sts. and a motorist near US-56 and Industrial St. were investigated. A warning of no tag light and tail lamp out was issued. A report of a possible impaired driver was investigated; the driver was located, checked out, and determined to be “OK.”

March 7 — A firearm was recovered in the 200 block of Elm St.

March 8 — A case was filed with the city prosecutor on an inoperable nuisance vehicle in the 300 block of Elm St. An unattended death in the 100 block of W. 1st St. and a non-jury accident in Peabody-Burns High School parking lot were investigated.

Thursday — A report of theft was investigated; no further information was available.
