Feb. 12 — A report of a suspicious person in the 100 block of N. Ash St. was investigated; the man ran when confronted.

Feb. 13 — An abandoned vehicle at Hillsboro Heights, suspicious person in the 100 block of S. Birch St., and report of an out-of-control child in the 500 block of S. Ash St. were investigated. A fight involving two juveniles in the 100 block of E. Grand St. was investigated.

Feb. 14 — A 911 disconnect at Hillsboro Middle School and a non-injury accident at Adams and Grand Sts. were investigated.

Feb. 15 — A HMS student was talked to in reference to calling 911 without a reason. A phone scam, dog running free, and suspicious person in the 400 block of N. Ash St. were investigated. A car vs. dog accident in the 300 block of S. Ash St. and a report of a trashcan on fire at Cedar Hall at Tabor College were investigated.

Thursday — A dog running free in the 300 block of N. Main St. and report of a possible burglary in the 600 block of S. Ash St. were investigated.

Friday — Suspicious activity in the 200 block of N. Main St., complaint of a peddler without a license, truancy complaint in the 400 block of E. 1st St., and child custody dispute in the 300 block of W. D St. were investigated.

Saturday — A dog complaint in the 600 block of S. Main St., noise complaint in the 400 block of E. 1st St., and shoplifting complaint in the 500 block of E. D St. were investigated.

Feb. 13 — A report of a dog tied up near a sidewalk was investigated; the owner was asked to move the animal elsewhere.

Feb. 14 — A citation for no seatbelt on a minor child was issued in a school zone. Two dogs running free were investigated; owner picked them up.

Feb. 15 — A warning for a defective brake light was issued.

Thursday — Two citations for operating an ATV on city property near Batt and Industrial Sts. were issued. A noise complaint in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. was investigated.

Friday — A possible scam and a non-injury accident near Cedar St. and US-56 were investigated.

Saturday — A report of a possible reckless driver on US-56 was investigated; officers located the motorist but observed no violations. A dog running free in the 700 block of S. Freeborn St. was investigated; the dog was returned to its owner. Two reports of possible theft are under investigation.

Sunday — A report of theft and damage to property in the 200 block of N. 2nd St. was investigated. A dog running free was observed; owner was contacted.

Feb. 13 — A felony case that involved intimidation of a witness, threat of violence, and a juvenile was started. A lost or stolen tag sticker from Harvey County in the 500 block of N. Maple St. was investigated for Harvey County Sheriff’s Department.

Feb. 15 — A health and safety case at 105 N. Maple St. and another involving a sewer complaint at 207 E. 4th St. were investigated. A report of damage to a city water meter pit was investigated.

Thursday — Police attempted to investigate cases of health and safety and inoperable motor vehicles at 305 Pine St. but were denied access to property, police chief Bruce Burke said; however, officers are seeking proper judicial authority to investigate further. A report of burglary in the 200 block of E. Division St. was investigated; Burke anticipates that charges will be filed with the county attorney.

Friday —A vehicle stolen from Wichita was recovered within Peabody city limits.

Sunday — A 1997 Nissan truck stolen from the 800 block of N. Olive St. in Peabody was discovered wrecked in Chase County.
