Sept. 4 — An animal welfare concern in the 300 block of W. Third St. was investigated. A citation for failure to register a dog was issued. A disturbance in which a person alleged being assaulted by a neighbor in the 300 block of W. Third St. was investigated.

Sept. 5 — A property dispute in the 400 block of S. Washington St. was investigated.

Sept. 6 — Several warnings for driving the wrong way down a one-way street at Hillsboro Elementary School were issued. A phone scam was investigated.

Sept. 7 — A disturbance during a child custody exchange in the 100 block of N. Ash St. and a report of suspicious activity at the fair grounds were investigated.

Friday — An attempted phone scam was investigated. Officers assisted Marion police with the investigation of a hit and run accident.

Saturday — A hitchhiker and a dog at large in the 300 block of N. Ash St. were investigated.

Sept. 5 — A report of gun shots in the 600 block of S. Cedar St. were investigated; shots were believed to have been fired southeast of Marion city limits. A report of escaped horses in the 600 block of S. Third St. was investigated; their owner was located and horses were corralled. A foot patrol of downtown businesses was performed.

Sept. 6 — A warning for parking in a prohibited area inside a school zone was issued. A missing person was discovered dead near the 100 block of W. Jefferson St. A report of people who passed a parked school bus while its stop sign was engaged was investigated; the drivers were located and spoken to about the incident.

Sept. 7 — A 911 disconnect in the 400 block of N. Roosevelt St. was investigated.

Thursday — A parking complaint in the 100 block of S. Coble St. was investigated; the owner was located and the vehicle was moved. A warning for an expired registration in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St. was issued.

Friday — A warning for excessive acceleration in a school zone was issued. A hit and run injury accident in the 200 block of N. Cedar St. is under investigation.

Saturday — Two speeding citations were issued on US-56.

Sunday — A speeding warning was issued. A report of a reckless driving on US-56 was issued. Three warnings for no tag lights near Eisenhower St. and US-56 were issued.

Sept. 5 — Police took a report of theft that is being investigated.

Sept. 7 — Police assisted Kansas Department of Children and Families with an investigation.

Thursday — An investigation was opened into a complaint of stalking.
