HILLSBORO

May 27 — An alarm in the 300 block of S. Wilson St. and a complaint about recreational vehicles being stored at a residence were investigated.

May 28 — Police investigated a non-injury accident in the 100 block of S. Birch St., a theft in the 100 block of N. Jefferson St., a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of W. B St., a report of a juvenile out of control in the 400 block of S. Main St., and a report of fireworks being discharged in the 100 block of S. Cedar St.

May 29 — Two juveniles were reported fighting at A and Jefferson Sts.

May 30 — An attempted lottery scam was reported.

May 31 — Police dealt with a non-injury accident in the 300 block of N. Ash St., a report of an attempted IRS tax scam, a theft reported in the 200 block of W. 3rd St., and a report of a suspicious person in the 900 block of E. D St.

Wednesday — A commercial alarm in the 600 block of Orchard St., a dog complaint in the 800 block of W. Grand St., and a shoplifting complaint in the 500 block of E. D St. were investigated.

Thursday — Police looked into a parking complaint in the 100 block of S. Main St., a dog complaint in the 100 block of S. Cedar St., a theft report in the 500 block of W. Grand St., a residential alarm in the 200 block of S. Birch St., and a report of a suspicious person at the sewer plant. They also took a report about an alleged violation of a protection from abuse order in the 700 block of N. Washington St. and provided civil standby for a domestic situation in the 500 block of W. Grand St.

Friday — A broken pellet gun was turned in to police, who also investigated a residential alarm in the 100 block of N. Adams St. and a trespassing complaint in the 900 block of E. Grand St.

Saturday — A parking complaint in the sports complex and another trespassing complaint in the 900 block of E. D St. were investigated. Police also performed a welfare check in the 100 block of S. Date St. and located a water leak at Tabor College.

May 30 — Officers noted damage to a valve cover near the water tower behind Marion High School.

May 31 — Officers responded to a child custody issue.

June 1 — Officers took a report of accidental damage in the 600 block of Walnut St. Officers investigated a non-injury accident in the 700 block of Nickerson.

June 2 — Officers took a report of a runaway juvenile, located the juvenile in the 800 block of E. Main St. and took the juvenile to Juvenile Intake.

June 3 — Officers took a report of possible criminal damage to property in the 1500 block of E. Lawrence St., took a dog at large to Animal Health Center, and did a welfare check in the 500 block of N. Coble St.

May 29 — Vince Newman, 18, of Peabody was charged with failure to appear on a municipal court warrant.

June 1 — Police took a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was found and returned home.

A report was made of a 1981 rape. Marion County attorney’s office determined that the statute of limitations had run out and there would be no prosecution.

Thursday — Maggie Liles charged with driving without a license and having no proof of insurance.

Saturday — Police helped Peabody Health and Rehab deal with a confused visitor. Department of Children and Families and the man’s family in Newton were contacted. He returned home. A theft was reported at Peabody Health and Rehab.

Sunday — Police took a report of criminal damage to property at 511 Elm St. Police assisted a parent with an out-of-control child. The parent is seeking treatment for the child from Prairie View Mental Health Center.
