May 22 — A trespass complaint in the 400 block of S. Washington St. and landlord/tenant dispute in the 200 block of N. Adams St. were investigated. A welfare check was performed in the 600 block of S. Washington St.
May 23 — A lost license plate was returned to its owner.
May 24 — A 911 disconnect in the 400 block of S. Ash St. was investigated. Police assisted McPherson police department in the arrest of a battery suspect in Hillsboro.
May 25 — Welfare checks in the 400 block of N. Ash St. and 300 block of N. Jefferson St. were performed. A report of a reckless driver in Memorial Park was investigated.
Thursday — A report of someone illegally dumping trash in a container in downtown Hillsboro was investigated. A harassment complaint in the 200 block of N. Ash St. and a residential alarm in the 200 block of S. Birch St. were investigated. A citation was issued for a dog bite in the 100 block of S. Birch St. A report of suspicious activity at Hillsboro Middle School was investigated.

May 23 — City crews were notified after officers noticed a felled tree in the 400 block of W. Santa Fe St. A report of an out-of-control juvenile at Oasis, in Marion County Special Education Cooperative, was investigated. A parking complaint in the 900 block of Lawrence St. was investigated. Downtown businesses were patrolled on foot.
May 24 — School zones were patrolled. Traffic control was provided as a turtle was removed from the 500 block of E. Main St. A warning was issued for failure to stop at a stop sign in the 100 block of S. Cedar St. A warning was issued for a brake lamp out near Upland and US-256.
May 25 — A panic alarm in the 1000 block of E. Main St. was investigated. A report of criminal damage to property in the 300 block of Eisenhower St. was investigated. A verbal warning for no tag light near US-56 and Cedar St. was issued.
Thursday — A lost purse was recovered and returned to its owner.
Friday — A dog-at-large was transported to Animal Health Center, and the owner was notified. A report of a dog chasing a mail carrier in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. was investigated; the owner was contacted, and caught the dog. A verbal disturbance in the 200 block of N. 1st St. was investigated; parties involved voluntarily separated. A report of harassment in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt St. was investigated.
Saturday — Warnings for passing in a no-passing zone and speeding were issued on US-56 near milepost 304. Directions were given to a lost motorist. A warning was issued for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle near US-77. Warnings were issued for speeding in the 900 block of E. Main St. and in the 400 block of E. Main St. An accident in which a vehicle struck a structure in the 800 block of Hudson St. was investigated.
Sunday — Citations for speeding and driving with a suspended license were issued near the US-77 and US-56 junction. A dog-at-large was transported to Animal Health Center from the 500 block of N. Cedar St.

May 23 — Police investigated a report of telephone harassment. Charges are pending.
May 24 — Police took a report of theft but the incident turned out to be a civil matter.
Thursday — Kayla Partridge, Peabody, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence.
Friday — Christian Gard, Peabody, was detained on a routine traffic stop and arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Jason Brooks, Peabody, was arrested on a municipal court warrant for failure to appear. He was subsequently charged with possession of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia and distribution of methamphetamines.
Saturday — Richard Burns was arrested after a routine traffic stop and charged with driving without proof of insurance.
Sunday — Liu Gongyan was arrested after a routine traffic stop and charged with driving without proof of insurance.
