Hillsboro

April 3 — An unattended death, dog complaint, and traffic complaint were investigated.

April 4 — Marion Sheriff’s Department was notified after a complaint about a Marion County Jail inmate who was making repeated calls to a woman’s house was recieved.

April 6 — A report of a woman’s Social Security number being used without her permission, a suspicious person at a bank, and a dog complaint were investigated.

Friday — Two reports of suspicious activity, a report of junked vehicles in a back yard, and a minor traffic accident in which no report was taken were investigated.

Saturday — A report of suspicious activity and two dog complaints were investigated.

April 4 — A resident was referred to the fire chief in reference to burning in his yard. A verbal warning was issued to a dog owner whose dog was at large.

April 5 — A citation for texting while driving was issued in a school zone. A concerned citizen was spoken to in reference to a recent change to two-way traffic on N. Third St. A scam was investigated.

April 6 — A report of an out-of-control juvenile at Oasis was investigated but no action was taken. An open door at HRK was investigated, the business was secured, and the owner was contacted.

Thursday — A citation was issued for a motorist who had an unrestrained child in the vehicle driving in the 1400 block of Denver St. A pedestrian versus vehicle accident in the Dollar General parking lot was investigated. A concerned citizen was spoken to in reference to the recent change to two-way traffic on N. Third St.

Friday — A report of an out-of-control juvenile at Oasis was investigated but no action was taken. An abandoned vehicle near US-56 and Cedar St. was investigated. A verbal warning for a headlamp out near Eisenhower St. and US-56 was issued.

Saturday — A report of dog-at-large in the 400 block of S. Cedar St. was investigated. A verbal warning for improper parking/standing was issued.

Sunday — A message was passed on to city crews after a concerned citizen contacted officers in reference to a branch down near Luta Creek Stage in Central Park.

April 5 — Police filed two cases with the city prosecutor — each for dog at large and vicious animal.

Police took a report of burglary. Stolen were a mix of 8 or 9 firearms including pistols, shotguns, and rifles. The weapons all have been recovered. An investigation into the theft continues.

April 6 — Police took a report of a dog bite. The case was investigated and closed. No charges were filed.

Police opened a case of mistreatment of a dependent adult. It is an ongoing investigation and no charges have been filed.

Thursday — Blake Dunahoo was arrested on a Marion County District Court warrant for probation revocation.
