Jan. 11: A possible burglary was reported in the 200 block of W. B St. Upon investigation, police discovered nothing missing and no signs of forced entry. A skunk was sighted in the 800 block of W. Grand St.

Jan. 12: A person reported a missing credit card, and there was a child custody dispute in the 200 block of S. Birch St.

Jan. 13: Justin Lewis, 34, of Salina, was arrested in the 400 block of N. Ash St. on an outstanding Saline County warrant for failure to appear. Officers investigated a trespass complaint in the 400 block of N. Ash St.

Jan. 14: There was a non-injury vehicle accident at the high school, and a commercial alarm in the 100 block of S. Main St.

Thursday: An abandoned bicycle was picked up, there was a traffic complaint on Orchard Dr., and an investigation of a possible domestic dispute in the 300 block of N. Cedar.

Friday: A runaway was reported in the 200 block of W. Third St., but returned home later in the day. A second runaway from out-of-county was also located in Hillsboro Heights. Police also investigated suspicious activity in the 100 block of W. D St.

Saturday: Officers investigated suspicious activity at the museum.

Jan. 4 — Officers issued a notice to appear for speeding (77 in a 65 mph zone), and issued a verbal warning for speeding (74 in a 65 mph zone). Canine officer Legion discovered marijuana and a pipe during a traffic stop; officers jailed the individual on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Jan. 5 — Officers investigated coyotes attacking a family dog, and investigated a domestic battery incident.

Jan. 6 — A suspicious person walking around was told to go home; the person later came to the police office requesting help. Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated man who allegedly refused to leave a residence.

Jan. 7 — A residence was searched for a suspect with a felony warrant, but the suspect was not found.

Jan. 10 — Officers responded to an unattended death in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St.

Jan. 13 — Officers attempted to serve a nuisance property citation in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt, but were unable to contact the cited individual.

Jan. 14 — A homeless man traveling through Marion located a ride to a homeless shelter in Newton.

PEABODY POLICE

Thursday: Officers assisted in a child-in-need-of-care case at Peabody-Burns Elementary School. A report was filed about an individual smoking where prohibited and littering.

Friday: Police took a report of a bicycle that had been stolen on Thursday. It was recovered and returned to the owner.
