Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Oct. 6 – A false alarm was investigated in the 100 block of N. Main St.

Oct. 7 – A parking complaint was investigated at Tabor College. A suspicious person was reported in the 200 block of N. Main St. A lost ID card was turned in to officers.

Oct. 8 – A missing bike was reported in the 900 block of E. D St. Both a trespassing complaint and a possible suicidal person were reported in the 100 block of S. Ash St., but the two incidents were unrelated.

Oct. 8 – A scam attempt was reported, and a lost vehicle tag was turned in to officers. A person reported their identification was used to open credit card accounts.

Thursday – An out-of-control child was reported in the 800 block of E. A St. A fire alarm was reported in the 400 block of S. Jefferson St., and a person was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Friday – A civil standby was provided for a property dispute. A disorderly person was reported in the 300 block of N. Ash St. A domestic disturbance was investigated in the 500 block of S. Main St, but found to be verbal only.

Saturday – A lost ID card was returned to its owner, and a traffic complaint was investigated in the 400 block of S. Ash St.

Saturday – Traffic complaints were investigated at Ash and D Sts., and in the 600 block of S. Ash St.

Marion

Oct. 7 – Officers met with a concerned citizen.

Oct. 9 – A false alarm was reported in the 1100 block of E. Main St. A loose dog was reported in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. The dog owner was contacted, and retrieved the animal. Officers assisted people passing through town. An item recovered on US-50 near 110th Rd. was taken to Marion County Sheriff’s Department.

Thursday – A 911 disconnect was investigated in the 300 block of S. 1st St., but no one was found. An unwanted person was reported in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St., but left before officers arrived. A possibly intoxicated person was reported, but no one was found. Motorists received citations for left wheels to curb and expired registration in the 1000 block of Sherman St., and for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St. A possible impaired driver was reported in the 200 block of S. 4th St. The driver was determined not to be impaired, but was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Friday – A motorist received a citation for speeding on US-56 near Timber Rd. A motorist was warned for a headlight out in the 600 block of Eisenhower St.

Saturday – A motorist was warned for speeding near 3rd and Library Sts. Marion Street Department was contacted for a water leak. Officers met with a person concerned with suspicious activity. A motorist on US-56 near Ridge Rd. received a citation for a suspended license, and a motorist was warned for speeding on US-56 near Upland Rd.

Sunday – A motorist near Main and Elm Sts. was warned for improper display of registration. A suspicious person was reported in the 600 block of E. Main St., but no one was found. A motorist near E. Main St. and Eisenhower Dr. was warned for no tag light. A false alarm was reported in the 700 block of S. Freeborn St.

Oct. 9 – Attempted use of a counterfeit $20 bill was reported at Coneburg Inn. A health and safety investigation was opened at 205 S. Olive St. for a requested extension on health and safety violations.

Thursday – A noninjury accident was investigated in the 600 block of N. Elm St.
