Activity reports
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.
Hillsboro
Sept. 9 – A motorist was warned for an equipment violation in the 200 block of W. Grand Ave.
Sept. 10 – A motorist received assistance with a vehicle lockout, and a bicyclist was warned for riding in the dark without a bicycle light.
Sept. 11 – A vehicle fire was investigated for insurance assistance in the 100 block of S. Ash St.
Thursday – A stolen bicycle was returned to its owner, and a possible domestic disturbance proved unfounded in the 100 block of S. Date St. A person stealing two cans of beer from Casey’s was reported, but no investigation was requested. A welfare check was provided in the 100 block of N. Cedar St., and motorist was warned for speeding in the 800 block of S. Ash St.
Friday – A motorist was warned for an obstructed tag at North K-15 and US-56.
Saturday – An accident at Dollar General, and a 911 hang-up in the 300 block of N. Washington St. were investigated A motorist received a citation for speeding and failing to signal near Ash St. and US-56. A suicide threat was investigated, and the person was transported to Hillsboro Community Hospital.
Sunday – A noise complaint was reported in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St., and a camper hook up was provided at Memorial Park. A motorist received a citation for speeding in the 200 block of S. Adams St.
Marion
Sept. 9 – A civil standby was provided, and officers spoke with a person about a tenant-landlord dispute. A person was investigated for looking into a business with a pair of binoculars in the 100 block of N. 3rd St., but said he was trying to look at the menu. A motorist was warned for a headlight out in the 700 block of N. Roosevelt St.
Sept. 10 – A possible fraud was reported, and a motorist was warned for speeding near Cedar St. and US-56. A motorist received a citation for speeding, driving while suspended, expired license, and interference with law enforcement.
Thursday – Suspicious activity in the 200 block of Walnut St., and a disturbance in the 1300 block of E. Main St. were investigated.
Friday – Suspicious activity was investigated in the 1500 block of Victory Ln., and officers met with a person to talk about stereo volume. Suspicious activity was reported in the 600 block of N. Cedar St., and a motorist received a citation for expired registration near Main and Elm Sts.
Saturday – A loose dog was retrieved by its owner in the 700 block of Denver St., and suspicious activity was investigated. A motorist was warned for speeding near Cedar St. and US-56. A disturbance was investigated in the 400 block of S. 4th St. but no action was taken.
Sunday – A disturbance was investigated in the 200 block of Grant St. but no action was taken, and a motorist received a citation for a trailer parked in the road.
