Activity reports
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.
Hillsboro
Aug. 5 – Officers investigated an abandoned semi trailer at Hillsboro Heights. A loose dog was reported in the 600 block of S. Ash St. A motorist returned to Casey’s after leaving the first time without paying for gas. Officers removed debris from US-56.
Aug. 6 – Motorists were reported failing to stop on Santa Fe St. at US-56, but no one was found. Officers investigated a civil matter.
Aug. 7 – A suspicious person was reported in the 500 block of E. D St. A welfare check was provided at 2nd and Main Sts. A scam attempt was reported. A smell of gas at Hillsboro Community Hospital was investigated.
Thursday – A vehicle parked in the street at a construction zone was moved. Suspicious vehicles were investigated in the 200 block of S. Lincoln, and the Industrial District.
Friday – Reports of a suspicious person in the 400 block of Floral Dr. and a reckless driver on D St. were investigated.
Saturday– Suspicious activity was investigated in the 100 block of S. Main St. A smell of gas was investigated in the Industrial District. A camper hookup was provided at Memorial Park.
Marion
Aug. 5 – A motorist was warned for speeding. A non-injury accident was investigated in the 1100 block of E. Main St.
Aug. 6 – Motorists were warned for driving against restrictions in the 1100 block of E. Main St., and for no tag light on US-56 near Timber Rd.
Aug. 7 – A possible theft was investigated, and was determined to be a civil matter. A motorist was warned for speeding near Timber Rd. and US-56, and a motorist received a citation for speeding in the 700 block of N. Cedar St.
Thursday – A possibly aggressive dog was investigated in the 400 block of N. 3rd St., but the dog never left owner’s property. A motorist received a citation for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St. Five individuals older than 18 found in the park after curfew were asked to leave.
Friday – A pair of loose dogs reported near Melvin and Roosevelt Sts. couldn’t be found. A welfare check was provided in the 900 block of Highland Dr. A motorist received a citation for speeding near 4th and Main Sts.
Saturday – Reckless drivers were reported on 190th Rd., and eastbound toward Marion on US-56. Officers served an arrest warrant in the 400 block of east Main. A motorist was warned for no trailer lights on US-56 near Upland Rd. A false alarm was investigated in the 1200 block of east Main St. A motorist received a citation for speeding on US-56 near Upland Rd.
Sunday – Officers returned a phone call in reference to a civil matter. Four motorists were warned for no tag lights on US-56.
Peabody
Saturday – A trespassing complaint was investigated in the 300 block of N. Locust St.
